Color mixer
Pick two colors and a ratio to see the blend and its hex code.
Questions
- How does this color mixer work?
- It blends the red, green and blue values of the two colors in proportion. A 50% mix of #FF0000 and #0000FF is #800080, purple.
- Why does mixing paint give different results?
- Paint mixes subtractively: pigments absorb light, so blue and yellow paint make green. Screens mix light additively, so the same blend on screen gives a grayish color. This tool shows the screen (RGB) result.
